Interior Design Quotation Format: A Worked Example
A complete interior quotation for a 2 BHK flat, section by section, showing how scope, rates, GST and payment terms fit together.
The project
A 2 BHK flat with a living room, kitchen and two bedrooms. The customer wants wardrobes in both bedrooms, a TV unit, a modular kitchen, false ceiling in the living room and full repainting.
Header and client block
Start with your studio name, address, GSTIN, quotation number and date. Then the client's name, mobile, email and site address. Add a validity date, for example 15 days from the quote date.
Room-wise scope
Group lines by room. Master Bedroom: sliding wardrobe, 7 × 8 ft = 56 sq.ft. Bedroom 2: hinged wardrobe, 6 × 7 ft = 42 sq.ft. Living Room: TV unit, 8 running ft; gypsum ceiling, 180 sq.ft. Kitchen: base and wall units, 18 running ft. All rooms: wall painting by paintable area.
Each line carries a short specification — carcass material, shutter finish and hardware — so the customer knows what the rate buys.
Totals
Show the subtotal of all lines, then any design fee, then a discount if offered, then the taxable value, GST and the grand total. Showing each step avoids questions later.
Payment terms, timeline and exclusions
List payment milestones tied to work stages, an expected timeline in weeks, and what is excluded — for example electrical rewiring, appliances, civil changes and decor.
